The Labels hail from Wakefield near Leeds, and consist of four lads and a lass who drum, strum, blow and sing. They formed just six months ago, but have a natural flare for enthralling, energetic live performances. Some may say the band are unsigned for a good reason, but I think they’re undiscovered talent.

It all started out in the mid winter of 2005, but didn’t last long. As, like with every band, there was fallouts. Things were looking unsure for them when the drummer left. Later, they were to become much more consistent, and came back – on form!

‘I’m sweating like a bitch’ was a common utterance echoing around The Aldephi – the nightmarish toilet sauna that is the most, like, punk venue Hull has to offer. Does this detract from the enjoyment? Well, not as much for the punters, but most of the bands look practically in agony on stage. At ‘2.40 [...]

Who the fuck are Arctic Monkeys indeed? It’s a story any indie rock fan should be well acquainted with by now. They are the band that had the fastest selling album in UK history.

Some people think post-rock is not going anywhere. I, personally, think it’s getting bigger and better, with these being the pioneers. From their first album, ‘The Fall of Math’, 65daysofstatic were destined be one of the biggest instrumental acts in the UK and maybe even the world.

Whether their name is simply a misspelling or a pun on something that nobody has yet realised, Token Jesture are taking their first steps on their career path through local gigs and simple recordings. Although there are only 2 tracks available on their myspace, both available at extremely low quality, there’s a lot to take [...]
