Radiohead have a blow out

October 8, 2008 by Andrew Hill · Leave a Comment

Seemingly to celebrate the 40th birthday of lead singer Thom Yorke and the penultimate show of their 2008 tour, Radiohead yesterday performed rarity ‘Blow Out’ live . Taken from their first album ‘Pablo Honey’ it’s the first time it has been played by any member of the band in ten years, despite being constantly requested by fans at shows. Even with the time that has passed, though, the performance was on a par with any of their regulars and featured an extended outro by lead guitarist Jonny Greenwood.

It was followed by a rendition of their other fan favourite, but never studio recorded, ‘True Love Waits’. Their 2008 tour for the album ‘In Rainbows’ culminates today (8th October 2008) after 50 shows across the world in the past 5 months. Despite the size of the tour, though, this is the only time they have played a track from Pablo Honey.

Fan footage is hard to come across, however one recording with good audio can be found here: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wuCOfakGXI0
