Today saw the release of Hertfordshire’s four piece ‘Alt.Rock’ act Sunflies’ debut EP “Coping Strategies.” This three track effort’s first offering opens with duel feedbacking guitars, which unfortunately remain the highlight for all that is to come. Read more

Les Valentine: Nervous

What’s all this? Porno sax? MOR piano? Banal, repetitive lyrics? Why it seems that The Feeling’s influence truly is all conquering as Brightonians Les Valentine concoct up a decidedly rancid brew that sounds like it should be tacked onto the end of one of those crap early 90’s family movies that end up being shown on ITV2 in the afternoon.. What Would Jesus Drive?: We Made This

The Twang - Wide Awake

March 19, 2007 by Kane Fulton · Leave a Comment

First came Kasabian, and now we have Birmingham’s The Twang; the most recent case of a band regurgitating outdated northern anecdotes like ‘avin it!’ in order to make themselves more interesting (seen as the tunes struggle to do it on their own). Unfortunately for them, this isn’t lazy journalism. The Twangs official website states, ‘”Singer Phil Etheridge has got the attitude of Liam Gallagher and the charm of Tom Meighan.’ None of it particularly screams originality. Read more
