Panic! At The Disco @ Leeds Met University

The Vaudevillian affair that is a Panic! At The Disco show rolled up in Leeds in a somewhat simplistic manner. Anyone who’s witnessed their videos or seen their more recent live shows could be forgiven for thinking that the wrong band had turned up to perform. But that is how things were as Panic! embarked on their first headlining tour of England in Spring 2006.The band members’ fancily-embroidered waistcoats were the only things that stood out in an aesthetic sense. Luckily they had a multi-platinum-selling album under their belts from which their entire setlist was made up of, with each song being sang back at them word for word.

Fan favourite The Only Difference Between Martyrdom And Suicide Is Press Coverage kicked things off in spectacular style as the intricate musical work was brought to life with much more success than most people could’ve probably hoped for. More recent Panic! At The Disco shows see the band dressed up like Victorian showmen, with front man Brendon Urie as the ringleader, and they’re regularly joined on stage by dancers decked out in harlequin-patterned costumes. But last year they relied on the music alone to make the show. Read more
