Diarmaid O Meara – Structured Noise

Prepare for an hour and fifteen minute collection of original, remixed and collaborated techno onslaught provided by Radio One and XFM hyped Irish DJ and producer Diarmaid O Meara.

Every track on his debut album Structured Noise has been pieced together into one continuous sound, which makes it feel that you are have just attended one long rave.

The release itself is very fast paced. The title of each song matches the music you will hear in most of the songs. Whether it’s the powerful, droning sweeping noises in Death From Above to the heavy thick sounds of Selfish Bass, there’s definitely some interesting stuff throughout the CD. Comprised of 16 tracks, you could say that this is a long album but O Meara keeps the variety going throughout. From the ferocious repeats at the start of Die Francois Die, the dirty sounding low sounds of Drag Queen or the frantic loops of Drop Dead Gorgeous, Structured Noise never gets too tedious.

Never a soft spot to be heard, Structured Noise is a powerful and ferocious release. From the heavy bass lines, the fierce loops and the rhythmic drum beats, this album feels like something that can jump out and grab you and take you on a trip that you’ll never forget.
