Hailing from LA and bringing with them their third album, The Bronx have well and truly done it again. Classier than most bands of their genre and much harder hitting, the punk five piece seem to not know the meaning of the word failure.
Their sleazy, rocky, punk sound has been refined on this album, improving on their previous efforts without loosing any originality or gutter-like quality.
The record is propelled into life with an amazing opener “Knifeman”. It’s infectious and gripping, a perfect first track that calls for revolution and makes you never want to stop listening.
Other impressive tracks include “Enemy Mind” and “Young Bloods”, they could easily engage the most hardcore of fans in some dingy little basement, whilst still having the potential to impress on a much larger, wider scale.
It goes without saying that this album will not be to everyone’s taste. It’s fierce and grabs you by the ears, refusing to let go until you are overcome by hate, passion and sheer determination that seems to be lived by the band throughout each song. And that is precisely what makes it so good.
It really is obvious that The Bronx have upped their game with this release. The playing is improved, Matt sounds even more hellish and wonderful, the album is honestly brilliant.
In these times of X-Factor ruled television, indie talk-singing ruled charts there is nothing more inspirational than an album which has a sole purpose to remind you that dirty, harsh, unquivering music is still about and still as mind-blowing as ever.
