‘We don’t go where the flash type go/ we’re taking our
chances and going out alone’ simply sums up the style of The
Gravity Crisis. There’s no other band out there at the
moment that sound similar to this Birmingham based
four-piece. ‘Spitfires’ can’t be confined to just one genre,
it’s like a mixture of indie and punk all thrown into a
spicy mixing pot and spat back out. Imagine a spitfire
gliding through the air, destroying everything in its wake
then crashing back down to earth in the space of two and a
half minutes.
Verses with thrashing guitars and crashing drums are
followed by heavily distorted interludes leading onto riffs
faster than a roadrunner at full pelt. It’s no wonder
they’ve already gained exposure through the likes of Zane
Lowe and Huw Stephens. This band is a breath of fresh air
from the generic indie that is currently being pumped out at
the minute and I know I can’t wait for this band to hit full
throttle.
